Global Fidelity – 2018 PVCC Let There Be Light

Morphing and evolving to the influences of global rhythms, tangible form and function are re-imagined with light. GLOBAL FIDELITY is an illustrative and playfully envisioned vintage HiFi diorama.
A construct of FUNCTION from an era of limited cultural conduit and narrow range with FORM from today’s era and our “speed of light” evolving global village. Set to a global DJ mix, visual evolution of tone and mood in audio-reactive harmony will cast new perspectives on a circa 1969 Pioneer PL41 turntable and accompanying circa 1982 Pioneer SX-780 “silver face” era receiver.

This is a multi angle projection mapping featuring animated art and mixing to create a trans-formative and transitional period through sacred symbols, middle eastern influence, technological interpretations, distant fractal evolution and more all while respecting the form and function of these timeless pieces of
immersive technology.

The audio bed is a mix from Soohan, a Baltimore based DJ, and DJ Gon, a RVA based powerhouse.

Projection mapping, also known as video mapping and spatial augmented reality, is a projection technology used to turn objects, often irregularly shaped, into a display surface for video projection. These objects may be complex industrial landscapes, such as buildings, small indoor objects or theatrical stages. By using specialized software, a two- or three-dimensional object is spatially mapped on the virtual program which mimics the real environment it is to be projected on. | Wikipedia
