{Clearer After Dark} in Maymont’s Japanese Garden, located in a serene rock grotto by day, sandy and tough…home to a stone Pagado, is the perfect partner to share with. The grotto strata, angular and hard, are brought to life with organic, often psychedelic renderings of our population’s textures, feathers, leaves, and presence. This jarring juxtaposition produces a unique marriage of elements that exist so separately in daily life.

Maymont Glow is the 5th annual lighted nature walk at Maymont, a 100-acre American estate, an extraordinary gift given by James and Sallie Dooley who lived here from 1893 to 1925. Whether strolling in the gardens, touring the mansion or watching river otters play, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Attractions include the 33-room Maymont Mansion, Italian and Japanese gardens, The Robins Nature Center, Maymont Farm, wildlife exhibits, carriage collection, and arboretum.

2022’s Maymont Glow reached over 48,000 patrons.
