The Chapel ‘Graduation’ Projection Mapping | UVA Brighter Together

UVA made a special request to acknowledge the graduates of both 2020 and 2021 as COVID impacted the 2020 graduation heavily. This was a great opportuity and medium to directly message the classes and their families in a larger than life way! The mapping was extended a second weekend. Read about the entire Art Series in PLSN news. And watch WUVA’s comprehensive piece on the project.

Brighter Together is an UVA arts initiative designed to provide engaging, artful experiences while still respecting COVID guidelines. Projection mapping provided an amazing way to engage at a distance while still experiencing something impactful. 5 prominent campus buildings including the Unesco Heritage Site of The Rotunda were mapped with art over a 3 month period.  Brighter Together was presented by UVA Arts, the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts, and the Division of Student Affairs and The AV Company and featured the art and mapping of Jeff Dobrow with the gracious help of Epson projection.
