The Chapel Projection Mapping | UVA Brighter Together

Kitties dance with particles to an ethereal score in a lush and unexpected place. UVA’s historic chapel was transformed into a visual playground for a night. Deconstruction and reconstruction of this historic chapel gives way to millions of particles interacting with some fanciful, relaxing golden tigers in a lush, organic forest of fantasy. Brighter Together is an UVA arts initiative designed to provide engaging, artful experiences while still respecting COVID guidelines. Projection mapping provided an amazing way to engage at a distance while still experiencing something impactful. 5 prominent campus buildings including the Unesco Heritage Site of The Rotunda were mapped with art over a 3 month period.  Brighter Together was presented by UVA Arts, the Office of the Provost and Vice Provost for the Arts, and the Division of Student Affairs and The AV Company and featured the art and mapping of Jeff Dobrow with the gracious help of Epson projection.
