Reigniting Curiosity through Technology: Visitor Engagement and Projection Mapping

In November of 2023 I presented a seminar on projection mapping and its potential to engage and immerse visitors and the public in new ways. I joined the forward thinking design firm Riggs Ward Design out of Richmond, VA for the event.

The session focused on a history of Projection Mapping, case studies and highlights of projects making inroads into various industries. Then diving into how to “think” to engage technology and create new opportunities for your visitors! As part of this, I created a viable use case scenario giving the public a spectacle to generate awareness for a fictitious event. A 4′ 3D printed model of the Chicago Tribune Towers was used to map a “100 Years of the Brookfield Zoo”! It was a lot of fun!
