Code:ART 2025 is a free, interactive media art festival that transforms downtown Palo Alto into a vibrant hub of light, sound, and imagination from October 16-25, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Presented by the City of Palo Alto Public Art Program, the festival launches with five site-specific installations from October 16-18, including a centerpiece at Lytton Plaza and four hands-on art experiences where visitors can meet the artists. These installations by local, national, and international artists reimagine downtown plazas, alleys, and public spaces in inventive ways – featuring dynamic projections, immersive environments, responsive sound, light, and game-based experiences.

Technology, culture, and our way of life have always been intertwined in a delicate evolution and collaboration.
Since the advent of primitive tools, through the Industrial Age, Space Age, and fast forwarding to where we are now, technology has yielded and augmented our collective and individual will. Growth and advancement have followed a nonlinear trajectory, and with developments in GPU technology, we are exploring at a blistering pace. The influence of these efforts is evident everywhere in how we live our lives and navigate our daily existence. As research, development, and innovation emerge daily, we live in a time of bold, frenetic energy, empowered and reaching like never before. A storm of unbridled achievement and exploration.
{ Tempest } is a vibrant, energetic, and abstract visual journey through the evolution of our technology, from hard, analog, and exposed to the fluid, parallel, nanoscale palette of today, and the friction generated by this ever advancing process.
Humanity itself is intertwined with its evolving “creation” through the interplay of three acts: Void, Disruption, and Being—each serving to represent different periods of technological growth, culminating in our collective future.
{ Tempest } is a bespoke projection mapped artwork conceived for the Code: Art Festival in Palo Alto, CA, 2026. The piece is approximately four minutes in duration and is designed and created in collaboration with EDM composition ‘Skylight’ by French Composer/Producer CloZee.
